Description:

Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) is a multifunctional protein involved in cell functions as differentiation, proliferation, migration, adhesion and extracellular matrix production. CTGF is a 37 kDa protein comprising four structural domains (IGFB, CR, TSP-1, CT). This configuration allows it to interact with soluble, cellular or extracellular proteins associated with the ECM. Many different cell types produce and respond to CTGF. CTGF overproduction is linked to fibrotic pathologies and important in wound repair processes.
